Apple turnovers are awesome pastries perfect for breakfast, tea time, a snack with a cup of coffee or dessert. They are extremely simple to prepare and very yummy. Here is an easy, but tasty recipe.
Ingredients:
1 large pastry sheet
2 large apples, Red Delicious, Granny Smith, etc
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
2 ounces of whole milk
Optional: powdered sugar, walnuts chocolate syrup
Preparation:
Take your large pastry sheet and quarter it. Next take your two apples and cut them into thin slices in a bowl. You can peel them if you would like but they are great with the skin on. With a brush, moisten the edges of the pastry dough and press them together, leaving small pockets for the filling.

Mini Apple Turnovers
If you are looking for a smaller version of an awesome pastry either for a small snack, for finger food or to create for your children a snack that won't disappoint are Mini Apple Turnovers. Ingredients:
1 large pastry sheet
2 large apples, Red Delicious, Granny Smith, etc
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
2 ounces of whole milk
Optional toppings, limited only by your imagination: powdered sugar, walnuts, chocolate syrup
Directions:
Lay out large pastry sheet and slice into 8 equal sized pieces. Take your two apples and cut them into thin slices in a bowl. Mix with sugar and cinnamon. Now spread the apples, cinnamon and sugar at the middle of each pastry sheet. With a brush, moisten the edges of the pastry dough and press them closed, leaving small pockets for the filling.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Place the turnovers in the oven; cook for about 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and decorate with powdered sugar, walnuts or chocolate syrup if you wish. This recipe yields eight servings.
Apple Turnovers are very versatile. They can be eaten as a breakfast pastry, an afternoon snack, or a dinner dessert. You can add an unlimited amount of ingredients to them to enhance the taste ever so slightly. Some options include honey, cinnamon and nutmeg, black and blue berries, sliced strawberries, serve ala mode (with a scoop of your favorite ice cream), served with fresh whipped cream, granola, etc. There are numerous ways to serve up this dish; you will find that your family will love this easy recipe almost every week of the year.

Salmon Recipes: Valuable Source Of Omega-3 And The Ultimate Gastronomical Delight! by Betty Mouat
Salmon Recipes have emerged as a hot favorite among countless fish-food lovers across the globe. If you are looking to include some flavorsome dishes in your diet but dont want to gain weight, salmon recipes are definitely the best option!
Salmon recipes are amazingly tasty and high in nutritional levels. Salmon recipes are rich in protein and contain the essential fats, or rather, the good fats. Surprisingly, a certain amount of salmon can fulfill your entire days Vitamin D requirement. In fact, salmon is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, which are the real players behind the high nutritional-value present in this delectable food-item.
Salmon can be cooked in a number of ways. A salmon recipe can be grilled or prepared in various methods. However, a salmon recipe tastes best if cooked with fresh salmon. Fresh salmon can be identified by their clear eyes and clean red or pink gills. Salmon recipes can be prepared with farmed salmon and canned salmon as well.
Salmon recipes offer the most striking variety when compared to other fish. Some of the most popular salmon recipes are discussed in this article. Sockeye Red Salmon is one of the most popular choices from the Salmon family when it comes to preparing delicious and healthy salmon recipes. The chief ingredients of one particular dish are sockeye salmon fillets; some special pre-made sauces such as Yoshidas Gourmet Sauce, a zip lock bag (large), aluminum foil and a small wire grill. Marinate the fish, cook on the grill and then wrap in the aluminum foil when you serve.
Salmon Dip is another popular salmon recipe. It is prepared with some sour cream, a little butter, 1 tablespoon parsley (chopped), 2 tablespoon pepper, 1 can salmon skinned and bones-removed, grated onions and some dried dill weed. Put all the ingredients together, leaving the fish, and mix with an electric mixer to make a smooth paste. Then, put in the salmon and dill. Next, cover up this salmon recipe and refrigerate until you serve.
An interesting aspect of salmon recipes is that since the preparation of the dish involves an oily fish, most recipes include a variety of sauces, rub and marinades. Moreover, at times salmon recipes are covered with pesto or are served with limejuice toppings as well. Dill is the most common herb consumed along with salmon, together with several vegetables and mushrooms.
One delicious salmon recipe with dill as the primary ingredient is the Grilled Dilled Salmon recipe. The ingredients of this recipe are Salmon fillets, sweetener or brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, a bunch of fresh dill, vegetable oil, pepper, olive oil and salt to taste. Put some sweetener on the salmon, followed by adequate amount of salt and vinegar. Then put enough olive oil on the chopped dill with some added salt and black pepper. Toss the entire preparation and wrap the fish with the dill, marinate it for at least half an hour; you can even keep it overnight. Heat the grill and oil it well. With the skin side down, put the salmon on the grill. Cook it till it turns opaque or obtains the shape you require. Make sure the fish is cooked properly. Interestingly, this particular salmon recipe contains about only 1-gram of carbohydrate, with essentials proteins, fiber, and calories in it.
Another special salmon recipe for all lovers of baked-food is Oven Baked Salmon with Herbs. In this dish, the chief ingredients are salmon filet, some fresh herbs, a bit of pepper, 1-tablespoon oil, and some salt. Remove all the bones from the fish and season it with some oil on both sides. Get the herb finely chopped and mix it with some salt and pepper. Heat the oven to 200 F and put the fish on it. Remember to smear some oil on the platter too. Bake it for almost 45 minutes and then serve with homemade sauces. This salmon recipe brings you the essential amount of protein and calories with practically no carbs.
Now, since salmon is rich in Omega-3 fats and is affirmed as a nutritious food, salmon recipes surely have great value! Salmon also contains B12, niacin, and selenium and is high on B6 and magnesium. On the other hand, calcium content is rich in canned salmon. Moreover, intake of salmon recipes helps to bring down inflammation, which again helps you to prevent certain serious diseases such as diabetes, heart-diseases, arthritis and many types of cancer. Additionally, the Omega-3 fats present in the fish assists in avoiding strokes, preventing blood-clots and bring down aggression and depression.
So, are you ready to feast on mouthwatering salmon recipes and lead a healthier life?

Salad Bowls And Spinners For Great Salads by Dave Text
Yes I agree the most consumed food in US is the salad (not to forget its less calories, high fiber, nutrition's etc. etc..). This once forsaken food has now found a permanent break on your dining table as well as on your taste buds. Ok let's not dwell in the history but face the present.
Salad is not just any mixture of leafy vegetables (as it looks probably) but needs proper garnishing and serving with of course the right mix of ingredients.
It all starts with selecting the recipe, gathering the ingredients and putting them into the salad spinner. You heard it right. The salad spinner is an important accessory if you are a salad connoisseur.
The salad spinner helps you to dry foods for your salad and I would suggest one which comes with separate chambers for drying multiple foods at once (and even without mixing them).
The salad spinner of course should be sturdyfor heavy use and large enough to dry salad for the entire family. Hygiene is another important factor while choosing salad spinner.
It should be easy to clean (I mean really easy, some of them are not and are really taxing) just need a bit wipe around. When you tug it around confirm it's with a secure ring at its base so that the spinner won't slip away to the floor.
The next choice for the connoisseur is the precise salad bowl. You are not only what you eat but how you serve it.
A right salad bowl (I will suggest a hand crafted one) is the perfect partner for a well garnished salad. The developed aesthetic sense by choosing an excellent salad bowl can lead you to great salad ideas.
Call this side-effects but an arresting salad bowl can increase your appetite (of course it increases the visual appeal of the food). But that's not all for a salad bowl. Choose the one which can hold a good quantity for the entire family, easy to clean and is durable.
Many handcrafted bowls need to be cleansed with mineral oil on regular intervals to keep the shine and grains.
Moreover the handcrafted bowls are durable (I still use one from my mother) and can serve you for time to come. Think of it, gifting a handmade salad bowl made from cherry wood (or pick one of your choice) can be a novel idea.
One peculiar problem (which many of us may encounter) with the wooden salad bowl is the slight odor which is noticed when it is new. But it wears off in time, saving you from making any extra efforts to get rid of it.
That's all about the salad spinners and bowls. I hope you have a perfect one or would soon reach the desired one for your kitchen. In any case have a healthy salad in a beautiful bowl and enjoy all the health benefits blended with a great taste.
No doubt, the salad bowls and spinners give you a great freedom of making the best choices and experimenting with different types of salads.

Tasty Tuna Salad Recipe by John Pratt
I've been making tuna sandwiches for years, but people have always thought the way I made them was weird. I just love my recipe, and usually if I can get someone to be open minded long enough to try it - they love it too. You should try my tuna sandwich recipe for yourself - I'll think you'll love it!
First, the basis for this recipe comes from my mother. But the additional things I like to add - well thats just my twist on it!
What you need:
* 1 can or pouch of Tuna in water (never oil) * 1 stalk celery * 1 sm. onion or a few stalks of green onion * green bell pepper (if you have it) * 1 tsp or 1 clove minced garlic * dash of salt * dash of fresh ground pepper * 1 tbsp sweet relish * 1 tsp sugar or splenda * 1 tsp mustard * 2-3 heaping tbsp mayonnaise or miracle whip * a handful shredded cheese (optional)
I think my mother learned this recipe from her mother, which is kind of designed to get kids to eat Tuna without them really knowing that they're eating something fishy.
All I know is that I don't even care for fish or Tuna that much, but I could eat these tuna sandwiches all day long! To get started get a medium mixing bowl and finely dice up your celery and onion.
You can use any type of onion, last week I used a small white onion, this week I used green onions. Both were great. Also, (if you like) chop up about about 1/4 of a medium green pepper -finely mince it and add it to the bowl. Add your salt, pepper, sweet relish, sugar (or splenda), minced garlic, mustard, then the tuna.
I usually mix it up pretty good at this point so it's easier to mix when you add the mayonnaise. I start with about 2 heaping tablespoons of mayo and add more if it's too dry. Last add a handful of shredded cheese (if you like) and mix one last time.
Then you're ready to make your sandwiches! You can use fresh soft white bread, warm french bread, or even a toasted bagel - all are wonderful!
I like my version of Tuna salad because it's slightly gourmet and the flavors mix nicely. It's a little crunchy, a little sweet - it's just really good!
